Posted by: @witchcraftAnd unsurprisingly Greenfoot Heating Solutions Ltd have now ceased trading, Trying to decide whether to pursue them through the courts to become just another person who won't get their money back from a folded company, I think I know the answer.
I suppose that they will just set up business again under a different name.
@editor I assume not as MCS and RECC say they cannot enforce financial penalties. I do think I have probably reached the end of the road. At least the company isn't around now to cause issues in future to other customers.
@witchcraft Sorry to hear about this extremely unsatisfactory conclusion to events. It's just diabolical and disillusioning! As with many rogue traders they will probably just set up under a new name as Derek says. It should not be allowed.
@witchcraft, are you still willing to write an article for us based on your experience, despite you hitting a dead end? If you are, once it’s published, I’ll send it to the heads of MCS, RECC, BEIS and anyone else I can think of to highlight the failures in the system. This may still prompt some sort of action. Please let me know.

@editor Hi Mars, I posted a little update on the other thread but as far as my complaint/write up goes I am aiming to finish by the end of the month. Life has got in the way a bit. As soon as it's done I will of course let you know.
A local tenants organization is running a 'Net Zero week' in June, and they have offered to come out and hear my experience beforehand, and I hope they have the integrity to take on board all the concerns I have and that the Net Zero Week is is not just an event to hard sell any particular products without respecting the fact that for some tenants things have gone very wrong. It's sponsored by Sero Homes and I am quite impressed by what they seem to be doing in Cardiff.
I have been in touch with my local MS Jane Hutt - Minister for Justice in the Senedd and they await my write up too. I have a few other people in mind.
@witchcraft, that would be great. Please email it to me – editor@renewableheatinghub.co.uk – when you're ready.

@witchcraft, it's taken a bit longer than expected to edit, but it's nearly ready, and it'll be probably posted tomorrow or Wednesday.

Witchcraft, the article has gone live: https://renewableheatinghub.co.uk/heat-pump-owner-left-high-and-dry-and-frustrated-by-lack-of-consumer-protection
I’ll contact MCS and RECC for comment. It’ll be interesting to see what they say.
