My thoughts are that I could turn down the lockshields upstairs (how much of a turn would you start with for the lockshields? 1/2?) or try to create a custom curve between 4 and 5.
I would try to avoid that TBH as its creating unnecessary resistance. Can you remind us whether you have the R290 or the R32 model? I think that on the R290 you have to change the Temperature Curve type to 'Custom' (and presumably then the additional parameters appear), see screenshot below. From a quick look at the R32 manual it doesnt seem to have this feature, but it may be possible to simulate it using the 'parallel displacement' function

@cmartinbwmba Regarding the LSV’s in the bedroom(s), may I suggest as a quick and dirty start, try the following.
As LSV’s rarely have any effect on restricting the flow if they are more than approximately one half turn open, try this. Shut the LSV in the warmest bedroom (or whichever the room that is just too warm) completely (fully clockwise), then open just one half turn and see how that radiator performs. You may well find this will still be warmer than required so, in small increments (10-12 degrees at a time) and leave to take effect for some hours. Any further tweaks may need to be made in even smaller increments - but, with patience, you will get there! Bear in mind that if you have a number of radiators in need of a tweak, slight interactions may occur. One of the advantages of being retired as I am is that such requirements can be indulged!
I would just add that this procedure is best carried out after the rest of the system is as near optimisation as possible. (WC settings etc.) Regards, Toodles.
@jamespa i have the r290. I can navigate to the custom settings bit but am unsure what on earth to put in the parameters thereafter. I'll try and get a pic of what shows up.
@toodles thanks for your advice, I'll see if we can start that way depending on if any particular bedroom an issue.
I'm just not sure what to put in to get halfway between curves 4 and 5, below
are you trying to programme your own WC to be between 4 and 5?

@ashp-bobba yes if possible, 4 defo too cold but 5 seems sometimes too warm. You can see the differences in the curves are fairly large at the lower temps. Any idea how?

if you find this to warm in the colder in cold winter just reduce the 47 to 46 and so on, if you find it to warm when outside is spring 15Deg C reduce the 27 to 26 and so on. if you find to cold in either season do the opposite.
I made you a new black line at 57 thats in the middle of 4 and 5 and then 2 lines showing the external temp and 2 pink lines showing the flow at temp.

@ashp-bobba great thanks. So I could have just picked any two points in the cold and warm parts of the curves and done an estimate? And those parameters will automatically form a custom curve?
@cmartinbwmba Most work that you set an upper curve so our favourite on UFH is 40@-3 and 20@20 to start and then we tweak to design, there is a lot more that goes into it but this is a good start and work up or down. if on rads often we are 45@-3 and 20@20.
Example based on professional design:
If the design is 35 Deg flow @-3 then we set 35@-3 20@20, this creates a custom curve.
if you let me know if you have rads or UFH?

Actually do you have a full design as this wil tell you what settings you need?
