@technogeek I think you are correct, but, it didn’t inform me that it was doing it. I wondered if it was some wider VPP event, but seems it wasn’t.
My relationship with technology has always been strained, I had a 90 minute online fight with what I now realise was a virgin media customer service bot last week! “Katherine” even lied to me when I asked if it was a bot at the beginning. I kept expecting it to answer “I’m sorry Dave, I’m afraid I can’t do that”.

@toodles FYI Ofgen have now approved Tesla power UK. Hopefully good VPP offering coming shortly, I guess after things calm down in middle east.

@papahuhu Yes, I heard the announcement yesterday; I suspect that we will receive a Muskmessage on the Tesla App in due course. In one YouTube presentation, the presenter Jonathan mentioned that perhaps Octopus might have to compete in some way if the offer were good. There is a Chinese saying, ‘May you live in interesting times’, I’m not sure it doesn’t apply here! Rewards (I would hope!), Toodles.

I had a genuine admiration for musk, particularly the contribution he’s making to interplanetary mobility. But now I struggle with a conflict between the visionary, an Arthur C Clarke on amphetamines, and the knob end with a chainsaw on the stage with rump.

@papahuhu I feel it is a shame that Musk didn’t just stick with what he seems to be good at - the product (though pricey) is very good; Im talking about the energy storage of course and to a certain extent solar generation products too. I cannot comment on the vehicular side of his business not having ever driven even a horse and cart. He has some very innovative ideas and I understand his power company in Texas is doing well - but I would rather he stuck to these businesses instead of branching out into politics where his skills are perhaps slightly less sound. I’ll say no more so as not to attract the attention of the ‘Mods’!Regrets, Toodles.

@toodles I have family working as an academic at Minnesota State, they tell me it has been a dystopian nightmare, like something straight out of an Huxley novel and far worse than the media reports suggest.

@papahuhu It will be an interesting comparison with OE’s IOF and whatever Tesla Energy (can’t remember the proper trading title) intend to try and entice us with. A while back, there was the Tesla VPP plan offered through OE which was then superseded by the Flux version from OE themselves. When I first bought into Tesla Powerwall, Tesla had their own plan but it went AWOL very soon afterwards. I look forward to seeing what is offered - but it will need to override my allegiance to OE first! Perhaps it is a case of Mr. Jackson versus Mr. Musk😉. Regards, Toodles.

@toodles Yes, I have a degree of loyalty too, impressed that as OE has become #1 they have remained innovative. But doesn’t take that much of an incentive for us petit bourgeoise to sell out, we tend not to be that principled.

@papahuhu Indeed we don’t! Much though I wish to be loyal, the bank account will always influence even the highest ideals! Toodles.

If I ever catch myself feeling hubristic I try to remind myself of Kierkegaards rather harsh but accurate analysis. We petite bourgeoisie exemplify a spiritual emptiness that is rooted in an overemphasis on the worldly rather than the inwardness of the self. Devoid of imagination and spiritless. That soon cures me, back down to my mundane orbit of interests, still wholly unable to get halfway through Finnegan's Wake before complete defeat.
It’s tangentially relevant as I remember an old interview of musk where he talks of his late teenage angst following his reading of existentialism, with his remedy being the creative drive towards interstellar travel (and likely aided by the liberal use of ketamine!).

@papahuhu Ironical isn’t it? The last few days, the ‘Agile’ tariff has included some lower charges for some HH’s than they have seen for a long time! Toodles.
