The EV charger doesn’t tell me voltage levels, just goes red when a PE fault is detected. This happens a lot at the moment during the day when it’s very sunny - I’m assuming that there is a mix of different facing panels and differing allowances. Never happens in the morning, evening or overnight....

The lowest point in the low-volts disconnect range is 186v. That's 20% below the statutory Declared Voltage of 230v. There are time-frames between 216.4v and 186v when an inverter or storage battery must react because it recognises the Low-Volts as being sustained, rather than momentary. This ...

They will be entitled to constraint payments to cover their losses, but you are right that investment would evaporate overnight if the goalposts were moved.

I agree with much of that, but that's a much wider reform of the relationship between national and local government. However I would also say that whichever tier of government designs a programme of any type should also police it otherwise there is no clear line of accountability. So I would be ...

My charger was quite picky about the lower threshold. I contacted Ohme and they set it as low as G99 allows. I have not seen it tripping on the higher limit but that could be just due to us generally only charging overnight.. The exception being when IOG decides to give us an extra period @3.5p/kwh ...

It's unlikely that the voltages are outside the envelopes specified in Sect.27 of the ESQCR I think @andrewj is giving us a reading which is being measured at his EV charger. It might even be shown on an App, rather than a physical meter on the charger unit itself. The accuracy of that measureme...

Take care to measure humidity in any small spaces or walls and the like. If your pipes are exposed in rooms it's not so bad but the point at which your cooling causes interstertial condensation and it obviously drips are far apart. If it's all buried in concrete or all visible on walls sounds like y...

At the moment, we rely on blinds/curtains. I am looking forward to get the heatpump to cool. Perhaps run it as cold as possible in the large rad (in the part of the house with pipework hidden under concrete floor). Place a bucket to collect the water from under it + we may need a de-humidifier... ...

Given we have a long established perfectly functional and competitive air/air heatpump install market maybe we should just leave it alone. Maybe we should ask hard questions about why mostly well off people are getting 7500 quid to give to their installer to give most of it to a manufacture...

"We shouldn't be expecting a DNO to change taps at a local substation in the meantime. " They've taken enough of our money to do it, if it's out of the permitted range they should be doing it and if not they need dragging through every inconvenience and annoyance until they jump. It's attitudes ...

OK. But the issue of your EV charger tripping out, and @tim441 seeing his inverter cease to export are related. Having 'plenty of solar in the area' means that those solar inverters raise the grid voltage when they export. Any LCT appliance like an EV charger, or another G98/G99 certified invert...

I understand that MCS are having to wait for another body to create some certification so that they can then accredit it. I agree though with other comments that MCS have a very paper focused process that looks to cover the installers more than protect the end consumer and achieve the intended be...

I would expect most topics can be governed at central government level. If there is some real difference due to local requirements, one option would be additional local governance. But it would ve better that the requirements are fed to central via the MP or whatever. Otherwise any local government ...

You have a different approach in Greece.   Here, Derril Solar is in a region where NGED is the licensed grid operator. They have two complementary rules to handle excess generation: 1: Generation Sites are given a number which reflects the date when they received an Offer to Connect. Late...

I am an old boomer and wholeheartedly agree, although almost every time I say this to other old boomers they tell me I am mad. Half the benefits bill goes on pensions, and a fair proportion of the recipients don't need the money and complain about benefits scroungers! I really got it in the neck...

I should also add that I have several automations for various scenarios, as listed in the screenshot below. The big fly in the ointment for me, which doesn't affect you, is the idiotic and facile change by Volkswagen to their API to stop customers from being able to use the API for personal use....
