I wanted to check the actual position of the Heating Wire. Attached is an image of my install, and the heating ellement looks to be down in the hole by about 2 inches. So 2 inches below ground level. Is this right? I have looked at the instruction manual, but to me it's not clear. I can confirm that it's in the middle of the hole.

I have a recent Pro model. It has a condensate drain at the bottom. In my case, it is anthracite colour and drains to a gulley nearby.

I know the electric wire for the supply comes through the wall just behind the unit. I do not think it gets into the ODU from below.

Batpred I was trying to establish where the heater ellement should be in the discharge pipe.

Ah, good point. I need to check if this was installed in our case.

The instructions for Ground installation for the Pro say:

"The downpipe must flow into a sufficiently large gravel bed so that the condensate can trickle away freely.

To prevent the condensate from freezing, the heating wire must be threaded into the downpipe via the condensate discharge tundish."

For my wall installation, this is what applies:

"the condensate can be discharged by connecting the condensate discharge pipe to a downpipe. In this case, depending on the local conditions, you must use an electrical pipe trace heater (optional accessory) in order to keep the condensate discharge pipe frost-free."

All I know is the pipe they installed in my case has an external layer... 🤔 (and could be insulated)
