Hi @johnd

Yes we had the defrost timer extended but we have still had to have the immersion heater on as well otherwise the ASHP isn’t able to reach or maintain the flow temperature when the external temperature drops to 2 degrees or below. And below 0 we can watch the flow temperature drop as the external temperature drops almost 1 for 1.

yes the defrost settings are on the level 2 menu.

Level 2 code is 334455

and factory code is 445566

@johnd do you also have a plastic container to catch any of the glycol overflow if it ever over pressures?

@johnd currently set at 40 degrees flow, actual was displaying 38.

just switched the immersion heater off and the flow temperature has started to drop.

External temp now at 0 degrees.

We've used 76kWh so far today and just holding onto 18 degrees.

When did you have your external unit swapped out?

Just wondering if we got your previous 11kw unit!

@jamespa there are a couple of parameter menu levels, only accessible if you know the correct access codes to get to them; level 1, level 2 and factory. (which we do)

I can throw up screenshots of each of the pages if you think it would be helpful?

Definitely please!

Is that a plate heat exchanger above the bucket.  Can you tell whether it is connected to the DHW or to the space heating between heat pump and emitters?

Did you say you have 2 water pumps?

I don’t know how you feel about coincidences, but we had our 7kw swapped out on also the 28th of November with the 11.

@jamespa
yes it is a heat exchanger between the glycol loop for the external unit and the DHW and space heating loop.

Apologies we actually have 3 water pumps; 1 for the glycol loop, 1 for the space heating loop and then 1 more for the DHW.

I’ll work through the menus and get the pics for you.

Heat exchanger picture without the polystyrene cover (space heating on the rleft and DHW on the right), pumps also visible on the left, underneath and one slightly hidden on the right;

Are you both going to post times as well as dates to see if the removal of one could've dovetailed in with the installation of the other? As coincidences go, that's a corker.
