Just received an email telling me that my Ecodan ASHP requires a software update. Anybody else had this and confirm it isn't a scam of some sort please?

email is from: meu-uk.lesecodanquality@meuk

It may be okay and probably is legit but we have not yet been told the reason for the yet to be fully fixed MelCloud borkage.  I, being a cynical and over cautious type would hold off for now or give Mitsibushi Support a call first.

No but I am still not back connected. I am in the 40% who didn't reconnect automatically and are still being rejected by the authentication server

@Morgan then that looks legit to me, because the people I know and communicate with at Mitsubishi all use the same email address extension/domain: @meuk.mee.com

@editor thanks for that Mars. I’ve never had email contact with Mitsubishi before. The more I looked at it it did seem legit but one cannot be too careful these days, especially given there is mention in the email of confirming various details and that a Mitsi agent will require access to the outside and inside components.

Edit.  I forgot to mention that a software update was applied at service Feb 2024.

Thanks again.

Have you established, or have Mitsubishi confirmed, what the cause of the issue is?

1000% – I regularly check and triple emails that look suspicious – you can never be too careful these days.

@editor  No, they are being a tad coy. They just reassure that the Melcloud team are working hard on fixing the issue. No time to resolution available.

@abernyte, hmm, must have been a major disruption if 40% of users still can’t reconnect.
