Ecodan software update. Real or scam?
Posted by: @morganJust received an email telling me that my Ecodan ASHP requires a software update. Anybody else had this and confirm it isn't a scam of some sort please?
email is from: meu-uk.lesecodanquality@meuk
Hi - last week a Mitsubishi service tech installed a software update to our 11.2kW R32 unit. Apparently it alters the behaviour of the linear expansion valves (located above the accumulator), as a precaution to avoid a potential problem with noise due to oscillation of the valves. We don't have any experience of any such noise problems.
Guessing it could be the same update as the one that I just spotted you had mentioned here.
Mitsubishi were supposed to come on two previous occasions but cancelled at the last minute.

Hi, my ecodan PUZ-WM112VAA is currently running on firmware version 5802, I was told that the latest version is 5809. Is there any ecodan installer that can apply to update to the outside unit?
Or if anyone knows how to install the update please let me know.
I obtained the firmware version number “5802” via running information code “090” in the service menu on ftc6 controller.
thanks
@vinz86 Contact Mitsubishi and an engineer attends and updates it for you for free. we had this done for a couple of our customers, our customers contacted Mitsi and explained about this high pitch noise and 1 week later the engineer attended and updated the machine.
