For anyone with PV - I just checked this morning and the FiT has risen by 13% this year (with RPI). So expect your payments to rise. The export tariff has also risen, but there are two different rates. 4.82p/kw for those from April 2010 to July 2012 and 6.79p/kw for those after August 2012.

it means my blended payment under the FiT/Export scheme is now 8.2p/kw generated - 4.76p/kw for 100% of my generation and 6.79p/kw x 50% of my generated power. I'm expecting just over £700 this year for having my panels on the house.

Is everyone’s FiT the same? According to OVO, our FiT rate is:

Generation and Export rates
Generation rate for this period 4.21 p/kWh
Export rate for this period 5.99 p/kWh

The FIT rate is not the same for everyone. The rate has been dropped over the years since it was first made available. I not certain if it is still available, but I seem to remember there was a website that gave details of the rates and the date when they were changed.

@derek-m https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications/feed-tariff-fit-tariff-table-1-april-2023

as well as varying by date of install (earlier = more) there are also variations by system size. 0-4, 4-10, 10-50 and up from there. there were periods when larger paid less (per unit) and periods when it paid more.

But systems were quite a bit more expensive then too.

It was due to the 'cowboy' and 'bandwaggon' effect.

As soon as Government grants or subsidies were announced, the cowboys came riding over the hill, jump on the bandwaggon, and the prices went up.

@ronin92 I paid £10,250 for a 4kW system. 16 Hyundai panels and an SMA Sunnyboy 4000 TL-20 inverter with 10 year warranty.
Was ok for the time & paid back in 4.5 years. I’ve had one connection short out that cost me £150 for my electrician to diagnose and replace. Best investment ever

@derek-m there was a bit of that. The market exploded rapidly. My fitters were cowboys but it was a really complex system. Just the estimation process. We are a perfect south facing, no shade, 44 degree room. No brainer really
