Signenergy AI Mode - How long does it take to learn a usage pattern?
Not sure how many Sigenergy users we have here but I’m looking for some insight into the AI Mode.
long story but our export tariff is not yet setup so we are currently in a use it or lose it situation with our solar and batteries.
we have an ASHP so when it’s on usage has been fairly high: so far I’ve been running the sig on a manual charge / discharge cycle to match the octopus cosy off peak periods.
the trouble is now spring is here our usage has plummeted and solar has rocketed so much so that I’m regularly seeing the inverter clipping out and our generation being massively limited. I’ve found myself putting the heating on and running dishwashers half full just to try make the use of the solar which would otherwise go to waste.
I think it’s still a couple of weeks or so away before we’re even able to apply to octopus to export let alone the time they take to process it.
I’ve switched to AI mode a couple of days ago but the forecast seems now to assume that we are going to use a lot of electricity so it’s being somewhat conservative with charging up the battery on the mains off peak.
i could of course just turn it back to manual and set it to be much less conservative but then we are at the mercy of a low sun day meaning we run the battery flat.
so what im trying to figure out is how long does the AI mode take to learn a new use pattern?
If I turn off the heating again and go to low summer use pattern how long before the AI mode figures that out and starts to not charge the batteries so much overnight on forecast sunny days?
a week, a month or longer? Anyone know?
Many thanks in advance….
I am definitely interested in this as I am considering a Sigenergy. How is the software integration could you unlearn it as soon as you are connected. We have had panels since January and only just got the thumbs up from Octopus so we wer in teh same boat lots of unnecessary usage just because!!!!
Kind Regards
Si
