I didn't run the heating over night. Only just now switched on. All I can add on the defrost is that the refrigerant temperature does drop as it go...

JamesPa Have you seen anything in the manual about how the defrost cycle works when there is: a power cut, thermal off, demand off, HP start up, etc?
