Indevolt Batteries UK Support & Info Thread

There's some big news for UK solar and home-energy enthusiasts... we’ve just taken delivery of the very first Indevolt Powerflex 2000 Hybrid complete with the PFA 2000 battery expansion pack right here in Britain, ahead of the official summer rollout. This is a true plug-and-play system. It simply plugs into a standard UK 13A wall socket, no complicated wiring, no electrician required. You can even add a cheap smart meter clamp to automatically charge it from excess PV production. The modular expandable design looks like it could finally make home battery storage simple, scalable and genuinely accessible for normal UK homes. I’m gearing up to run full real-world testing and a detailed review over the next few weeks: performance numbers, actual bill savings, backup capability and a complete step-by-step guide on how to install it safely and fully in line with current (and updated) UK regulations. When an export constraint can be adjusted by the householder, the DNOs regard that as if it will be set at the maximum export possible.

The DNOs are members of the Electrical Networks Association who define the rules and the tests which allow products to appear on the G98/G99 Approval database.

May I point out that there are Councils' Trading Standards staff reading this discussion.

If any of us post a technical definition such as DJI itself is a category 2, but sold as a category 1 then it would help enormously if you referenced the source you've used to make that statement.

There's a lot of useful expertise here on the Forum, which would be useful to Trading Standards as they assess what actions/policies they ought to be pursuing. We should make this as easy as possible for them. Their admin staff can't be expected to already know what all the definitions are.

I have some sympathy for manufacturers trying to negotiate regulatory nuances whilst producing products as cheap as the public expects.

I also have some doubt about the validity of the regulatory differences and the enormous amount of skilled intellectual energy devoted to creating them, intellectual energy which could be used for more productive activities.
