Hi everyone

Looking for some help with pump and esbe mixing valve selection for our UfH. We installed the loops and manifold in the Summer along with our geocell and limecrete floor.

Now we are the stage of selecting and installing pump and mixing valve.

This is DIY as we were unable to find anyone in Cumbria who was prepared or able to do this for us. So I’d really appreciate the group’s help to get this right.

I can share my calcs but I’m planning to get VRG133 (compression fitting) with Kvs 2.5. My question for now is this: Why do the pros use the VRG131 with internal thread and then require a separate threaded to 22mm compression adaptor?

It seems to be the norm in most information I’ve seen so I’d like to understand why this is the case.

thanks in advance for any help and advice you can give.

Andy

VRG131 is just a popular valve and can be adapted to any size using fittings. The pump can be chosen based on the pressure loss.

What will be in control the ESBE valve actuator?

We are an ESBE specialist supplier, so I can help with sizing, but I need to know max flow temp, kW input and design DT.

@pirate-rich Thanks for the quick reply! That makes sense, it’s an easier option for wholesalers and plumbers using a lot of valves that they just need one type to cover multiple scenarios.

But for little old me, using a compression model is no issue except the short wait to get one from Esbe? I think you already mentioned this lead time in your email reply to me a couple of weeks ago.

I’m going to use this for the valve control (I’m on biomass) Clima600
