Hello,

Just joined the forum because we have recently (4 weeks ago) taken the plunge and switched from LPG boiler to ASHP.

I am now just starting to fiddle with the system a bit, because I am not convinced it has been set up in the most efficient way by the installer.  I will probably have a few questions!

Cheers,

Peter.

@peterr
Welcome to the forum Peter.  There are some very knowledgeable people here so ask away.  I’ve gained a huge amount of assistance and thus understanding as a result of being here and asking questions.  Like you I’m a new adopter and had my ASHP commissioned only a couple of weeks ago.

Good luck.

Retrofitted 11.2kw Mitsubishi Ecodan to new radiators commissioned November 2021.
14 x 500w Monocrystalline solar panels.

2 ESS Smile G3 10.1 batteries.
ESS Smile G3 5kw inverter.

@peterr, welcome.

If you give a few details about your system and how it's set up I'm sure someone will be able to help. I've has my ASHP a few months; have learned a lot but still learning.

@peterr, welcome to the forums. Please start a new thread in the ASHP section with the name and size of your heat pump, which will become your dedicated thread. If you're not sure how to do that, just post our reply below and I'll move it.

Hi everyone!

In the process of having GSHP installed.

Still using the Calor gas system for a few more days. Big garden looking like a WW1 scene.

Anyone here used Miller from North Walsham?

@warren-s, welcome to the forums. What kind of heat pump are looking to install? Air to air or air to water?

hi mars , not too sure yet . have just finished the building design and am now looking into heating systems . was suggested that air to water would be good as was going to go with a conventional gas boiler setup but will have between 6-10 kw solar system (dependent on local reg agreement ) . finding it difficult to gauge the heat loss for building as all calculators i have found dont include the materials i will be building in . open to all ideas as this is a fact finding mission . building in budapest is not easy to get the info you require and the language barrier does not help .

@warren-s

Hi Warren,

in case you haven't seen it, this forum may help you with questions about different building materials, insulation, etc.  I'm sure if you ask you will be able to get advice on heat loss for the materials you are using.

@warren-s, starting a new thread to speak about materials and u-values is a great idea.
