Finally, after what seems like an eternity, we paid a deposit for a heat pump installation.

The unit should be installed the week starting November 9th.

Thank you to everyone on this forum for your help.

I really must echo the sentiments that many on here share - consumer knowledge makes a massive difference to the buying process: So, so, many people must walk into the purchase of a system without understanding the basics and simply put blind faith in their installer.

Time will tell if I chose well or not, but I have confidence that we and our installer are aligned and things should go well.

@ian33a What size unit did you get in the end? My guess would be 12kW?


ASHP: Mitsubishi Ecodan 8.5kW
PV: 5.2kWp
Battery: 8.2kWh

I did, indeed, go with the 12 KW Vaillant unit.
