This autumn and winter, we’re considering hosting online masterclasses where we’ll invite 2-3 experts to discuss everything you need to know about heating systems, heat pumps and more. True, that'll be down to the presentation giver. But first two show hydraulic separation, the 3rd is not hydraulically separated.

Fair enough, we need diagrams for the masterclass otherwise confusion will reign!

And on that note, our inaugural episode of Renewable Heating Hub Homeowners’ Q&A is out, and we discuss buffer tanks as promised. 🤔

Our panel features Brendon Uys (@heacol) from Net Zero British Gas, Simon Murray (@simon-m) of Optimus Heating and James Clark from Elite Services Group.

This is our episode, so there were some sound teething issues that we hopefully won't have in future content.

All 3 drawings are hydraulically separated and are all buffer tanks. The third does not show a pump in the heat pump, which there has to be one, or water will not flow through it. You can see the pumps on the other 2 drawings.

Our first episode of Homeowners' Q&A has been generally well-received – though it did ruffle some feathers among those with a vested interest in buffer tanks!

Building on this momentum, we’ve lined up some fantastic panels featuring top industry experts to discuss crucial topics related to domestic heat pumps. But to ensure these discussions stay balanced, relatable and truly helpful, we’re looking to bring more homeowners into the conversation.

If you’ve faced issues or have concerns about your heat pump system, we want to hear from you. This is your chance to be part of an open, honest dialogue that could help thousands of other homeowners just like you.

We’re looking for a homeowner to join us on Friday, Oct 11 at 10:30 for our General Heat Pump Q&A episode. We’re particularly keen to hear from someone who’s had their heat pump for 2–3 years and has faced several teething issues.

The panel will feature two heat pump experts, and we’d love for you to share your experiences, both the ups and the downs. You’ll also have the chance to weigh in on questions from other heat pump owners, discussing whether you’ve had similar challenges and how you’ve managed them.
