• @old_scientist Cosy (standard model) here, I was on Cosy previously to a short flirtation with IOF but not getting on with it, I went back to Cosy within a week or so. Calling it just ‘Cosy’ as until the Fixed version came along, there was just the one model. Regards, Toodles.

@papahuhu I've spoken with Octopus this morning about switching the export tariff, and the guy wasn't aware of any process they can do their end to switch the export tariff for you, so you need to apply for an Octopus Outgoing tarrif of your choosing (Outgoing, Prime or Agile).

He did initially say he thought I could just stay on Flux for export as he was sure he'd seen plenty of accounts with Flux export, but I advised him that wasn't an option according to Octopus' compatibility chart. I guess some people fail to switch their export tariff and maybe just stay on Flux - I wonder whether they continue to be paid Flux export rates or if Octopus backdate regular Outgoing once they realise the error.

Anyway, I'm off to apply of Octopus Outgoing, where you have to provide your MPAN, and copies of your MCS certificate and DNO letter again. I raised this with them and he said he would raise it to see if the process could be streamlined for existing Octopus Export customers to not have to provide all that information again every time they switch export tariffs.  

@old_scientist I just checked and my account still says flux export, I may leave it and see what happens then. There is about a 24 hour lag between the export and it appearing as an input, so I will find out tomorrow if they are honouring the flux.

perhaps you are best leaving it, until they correct their error?

I think that's how it should be, but the guy I spoke to had no idea how to do that, so just advised me to apply online (sigh).

My guess is that if you do nothing, Octopus will continue to pay you at the Flux export rates (for now).

My concern would be that at some point down the line they realise the error, and move you onto a compatible export tariff and retrospectively apply those new export rates back to the date the switch occurred (as happens when you switch onto Flux). If you've been basing your export around Flux rates and are retrospectively moved to another export tariff, you may lose out.

Octopus are very clear that Flux export is linked to Flux import, so I think it's completely reasonable for them to retrospectively end the Flux export tariff if you switch away from Flux import. Or to put it another way, Octopus automatically backdated (recalculated) the Flux export rates when I switched onto Flux and the export tariff took 10 days to switch over (it was initially calculated at my previous Octopus Outgoing rates and then the system automatically recalculated my export at the Flux rates once the switch finalised). So I suspect that once you are eventually moved, the system may automatically recalculate your export from the date of the initial import switch for the new export tariff.

Nah, thats after the American mid-terms and the war will be over then.  We have it on the authority of a strong and smart (high IQ) President.  What more evidence does Ofgem need when setting the cap?

@batpred When the raw material input has increased in cost  110% in a month, common sense comes into play.
