[Sticky] Air source heat pump roll call – what heat pump brand and model do you have?
Samsung 16kw has been working well at home in Perthshire for the 1st year since commissioning, though made the error of turning things down while away for a few weeks over Xmas - which of course cost a packet to reheat the house and probably strained the kit a bit. Won't do that again, though we do keep heating off over the summer and will restart at end of August.
Have also installed Mitsubishi Ecodan in an old stone cottage on west coast of Ireland (Connemara) after renovations to insulate floor, install UFH, insulate and airtightness, MVHR, triple glazed windows etc. So far so good but can't quite understand seemingly high energy consumption in June when it was so mild there. Now also running only DHW as solar gain and insulation keep house warm (at lease during the heatwave in July). Will heat again from end of August. One niggle - tried to install the wifi unit (not standard it seems) and the MAC-5971F-E was a trial. Docs pointed to wrong app (MELCloud Home is the right one). Blutooth connectivity to start is an issue noted by MEL on their availability pages ( https://www.melcloud.com/en/support/service-health/service-statuses-table) as is availability of their servers! The last may explain why I eventually had to give up as the final registration step to those servers has not yet succeeded. Will try again periodically. A bit annoying after shelling out for the wifi unit but hey ho!
Unit is less than 100m from the sea so some trepidation about longevity and storm survivability tbh (having recently experienced some of the worst that the Atlantic can generate) but we'll see how that goes over time.
Mftr: Mitsubishi
Indoor Model: Ecodan EHST17D-VM2E
Outdoor model: SUZ-SWM40VA
Area: ca. 95m2
Heating: UFH throughout
Occupancy: normally 2, max 6
DHW: 4 sinks, 1 shower. - scheduled for 8hrs a day to see how it goes.
