@cathoderay I’ve found all the triggers on the firewall. It says the content “was blocked by firewall for XSS: Cross Site Scripting in POST body: post=%3Cp%3ESome%20evidence%20that%20the%20Midea%2014kW%20unit%20can't%20quite”
It’s not the MET link or png.
Please try again.

Will do, but the firewall is wrong, there was nothing that could be even remotely considered to be cross site scripting in the post, any more so than there is in this post!
By the way, quoted text (select some text in a post, and then click the quote icon, to reply with the quoted text copied to the reply) currently appears in centre aligned upper case bold text on my screen, rather heavy on the eye. I guess its CSS that's making it so. Just wondered whether it is meant to be like that?
Midea 14kW (for now...) ASHP heating both building and DHW
Just tried again, and it worked. I did change the Met Office WOW link from a raw url (https:// etc) to am embedded link (some text with an embedded link), maybe it doesn't like raw urls...
PS embedded links are not very clear - unhovered over, they appear as normal text, and even when hovered over, they just go a bit lighter.

Posted by: @editorFor starters today, we've just added a search button for the forums, so you can find what you're looking for that much easier. It's located on the right sidebar, under the Advert block.
Since its addition (edit: or maybe since the ads got slightly bigger?), the Login / Register buttons are no longer on the first page for me. Could Search be moved down below Login / Register, please, or the Login / Register moved somewhere else high up the page?
@mjr, yeah I can search down. Out of curiosity, why do want the login option higher up?

- @editor because it's the only obvious indication if I've been logged out ( which means messages aren't marked as read when I read them ). On reflection, Adding register and login links to the top of the left column would be better because on small screens, the right column ends up beneath the left.
@mjr, fair enough. I've bumped it up a spot. We can't move it to the left, because the forum page only has a right sidebar.

Posted by: @morganHi Mars. I’ve noticed something about the site that has now come to irritate me slightly. Not too much of a big deal but....
When visiting the forum and tapping on a thread that has new posts, indicated in bold type, one is taken directly to the last post. If more than one reply has been made one then has to scroll up to check. Would it be possible to change that so it would take me to the first unread post?
As said not a biggie but somewhat annoying.
Love the site otherwise 😁
Further to the above;
I'm still being taken to the last post as described when accessing new posts from the main forum. However if I access via 'Unread posts' the exact opposite happens and I'm taken to the first post in a thread. It's a simple reversal of the above but with the same tedium and irritation of scrolling the reverse direction. It really is beginning to spoil my enjoyment of the site itself and the otherwise wonderful source of information the site offers.
Am I alone in this and if so why? The same applies via desktop PC and mobile devices. 😡

@Morgan I think you're alone this. Everyone else that's commented is taken to the last read post and that's the way the settings on the forums are set up. I really don't know why you're being taken to the first post.

It's extremely annoying and I cannot fathom how I can be alone. I even use different browsers on PC and mobile. No idea why this is happening.

@Morgan, I've just tripled checked the settings and this enabled: "Jump to First Unread Post with [new] Button in Topic Link" – and it's working for me. Just tested it on today's posts.
It could be a cookies thing – do you see the "new" icon in orange?
