  • has a mode where it keeps the fan idling if there were any R290 leaks to reduce clearance requirements (the German new Plus has that, too)
  • Plus in June confirmed as well

All going according to plan, mid July we get that 7kW anthracite plus with the standard 7 yrs warranty.

I cannot believe I have a tentative date. 😁

I also had a chat earlier on with the heat geek answering ai. But unfortunately ai is not going to get it working for me.

We are putting our faith on agile engineering at scale. Hopefully I will not be back here with plan b.

They advertised in early blurb new control electronics reducing the number of separate control boxes, I cant immediately tell if that has been realised.

I had a look at the manual for the pro and it mentions "Modbus cable connection", one for inverter and one for the indoor unit. The new plus also mentions modbus. It seems my plans to get an Sbus adapter may need revisiting?

Interesting.  Perhaps wait and see how things develop!  Maybe Vaillant have bowed to the inevitable (or forthcoming EU regulation which it has been suggested may be introduced) and implemented modbus.

Of course we aren't in the EU so they may, but probably won't, disable it for the UK market!  Modbus was developed by a US company subsequently sold to a French company, so it's definitely an immigrant protocol.  Thank goodness we took back control.

4kW peak of solar PV since 2011; EV and a 1930s house which has been partially renovated to improve its efficiency. 7kW Vaillant heat pump.

Of course, British companies asked for the benefit of the extra hassle with extra standards for one market to be scrutinised. It seems this gov will do that, to everybody´s benefit.

Dynamic alignment could be a very shortcircuited process..
