@derek-m Good point, though as there is always an obvious correlation between wind direction and outside temperature - it obviously has an effect. Lots of variables for this simple electronics technician (retired) to understand!
Posted by: @kev-mActually, now you mention it, yes. I didn't change anything from yesterday and the house was 21.5C yesterday evening. I thoight about moving the curve down but didn't. Rads were 35 or so as I remember checking them. It's now about 20C now and rads are still 35C. So my very unscientific conclusion is that I could be losing 1C or so because of the 30mph winds and rain.
I feel a log fire coming on this evening ... 🙂
Thanks for that Kev,
With auto adaptation your system would have probably raised the water flow temperature to 36C to compensate.
Hi Nigel,
Sorry that I did not get back to you earlier.
I'm afraid that I am having to make quite a few assumptions as to how your system may or may not be configured and operating.
Obviously, the two Heatmiser thermostats (one in the living room? and one in the kitchen?) are opening and closing the valves for the UFH and probably switching on and off the associated water pump. Whether signals are also fed to the Vaillant controller from the thermostats directly or via the Heatmiser hub is something that you may be able to clarify.
Your ASHP is controlled by the Vaillant controller, I assume, the one with the screen with the 4 pushbuttons underneath, that appears to be located in your airing cupboard/utility room. Unfortunately the photo is not very clear, and I cannot see whether it is operating in water flow control, weather compensation control, or room temperature control. Could you please clarify?
Where is the VRC720 (760) unit located?
Could you please identify the unit with the 4 pushbuttons beneath the screen so that I can ensure that I have the correct manual?

Thanks Colin,
I'm afraid I did forget the link. One of the pleasures of growing older. I have read through so many posts over the past months, that I find it difficult remembering what I said, let alone remember what was said by others.
I tried to attach the actual document, but for some reason the forum refused my request.

hi
yes the two heatmiser are in the locations you stated, and are opening and closing the valves for the UFH. I believe the signals are fed via the heatmiser hub.
the VRC720 is located in the hallway.
the unit in the utility room is a Vaillant heat pump control VWZ AI (photo attached)
I've also attached a photo (sorry about the lighting on it) of the current display.
hope this helps

Hi Colin,
Maybe you can help. I have read all the way through this document that is titled 'Weather-compensated system control', but can find nothing relating to weather compensation other than it is mentioned on page 4.
I am assuming that the actual setting of the weather compensation parameters is done elsewhere, can you throw any light on this?
Hi Nigel,
Could you please provide a readable closeup of the VWZ AI unit screen.
Is the display on the VRC720 showing consumed electrical energy or produced heat energy? Maybe you could provide a list of the status information that is available.
