A friend of mine who subscribes to an AI service was explaining he could request so many images per day from an AI system he uses; I said ‘How about a pink rhinoceros     in a tutu ballet dancing on a pin head?’ A few minutes later, the attached image was emailed to me:

I’m sure like many software toys that it is addictive!

Like many people I’ve had a play with it and taking a subject I know it’s fascinating to see the range of answers you get according to how you word the question. You can easily see the rhino is pink etc, but on some subjects you need to follow the links (using the simpler google example) to know if it’s got it right or not. And you know how to asses data and something about the subject too. So no substitute for knowledge and education even if at first glance it might seem to be. It’s a ‘fake news’ nightmare too on contentious subjects. Is your animal a rhinoceros or really pink or just plastic and lit well?
