I thought I'd try to use ChatGPT to specify my requirements. Based on

  • West facing extension flat roof. 8.5m x 5.5m
  • Shaded by main building   no other shading
  • 9kw ashp
  • EV provision via zappi
  • PV solar + batteries
  • EPS preferably whole home, automated changeover.
  • Zappi not part of EPS setup.
  • Integration with Octopus tariffs

Pretty good initial suggestions I feel:

Installer brief: https://chatgpt.com/s/t_68b7358b51048191bbf7355cf1a73668

Comparison Table: https://chatgpt.com/s/t_68b7345032188191901a20142eb8177c

Any thoughts/comments? Briefing requirements OK?

I have been positively surprised when I asked it to specify a PV system for a flat roof and mentioned I was interested to do something so it does not get dirt from birds sitting at the top! It started giving some suggestions of systems, asking if there is a parapet or not in the roof.

A lot of the base information of pv cells and inverters seems to have been updated by manufacturers, specifiers, etc and so chatgpt does a very good job at working out what is most suitable.

The info about birds and other aspects like chimneys etc, it probably figured out from what people generally ask in forums or questions from websites where people input their queries..

8kW Solis S6-EH1P8K-L-PLUS hybrid inverter; G99: 8kw export; 16kWh Seplos Fogstar battery; Ohme Home Pro EV charger; 100Amp head, HA lab on mini PC
