@gunboatdiplomat The T&Cs do say the refund will take up to 20 days. And there’s always the option of a Section 75 claim if there is any difficulty. I’m sure there won’t be.

@editor Thanks. They have come across as very professional and I would have every faith in the installer who has quoted to fit a system that performs as stated. But at the price quoted it just is just prohibitive - especially as there are other significant costs on top. Still if I win the lottery tonight...

Heat Geek came straight back to me and sorted it out as the proposal was still active on their books so I don't think you'll have a h issues @davesoa

I mean, is this surprising? The local installers in my area gave me quotes that were double what Octopus charges. Not 10 or 20% more. They might not "technically" be rogue traders, but consumers are smart enough to recognise a rip-off, especially when it's dressed with eco-friendly credentials. And for the record, the technical parameters seemed really wrong as well (small radiators etc.)
