Why not get the installation fixed, it usually does not take much to get a reasonable outcome?

Correct, Most manufacturers just specify, and supply a strainer, not a magnetic filter, for any system
@luke TF1 filter for a strainer? Is this just to improve flow? Will there be other detrimental effects? just to improve flow and stop parasitic losses...

@hughf 😀 A standard Y strainer is adequate if your system is clean and well treated. We ise 1 1/2 " for flow.
@hughf Do not fit the flow setter, it has no purpose and is a pressure parasite.
