No idea, mine reports the same, in fact with almost the same figures.. Looking at the detail, I see that most days in Aug it used 100-200w for heating, about 2% of our overall consumption.
Not sure if worth raising to their app team. It could be some sort of regular heatpump maintenance cycle.
I am very impressed with the stats the Vaillant app provides, all energy use and SCOPs calculated, broken down in whatever way you may want.

Just noticed this. My vaillant aurotherm is using heating when there is no heating on (just had DHW on) . Any thoughts on why this is?
Mine does the same, but recordw is only about 6kWh/month.
I assume its a combination of quiescent power consumption, some of the things it does regularly like running the pump and maybe pre-runs/post runs for DHW. It has to assign these to something (or ignore them) and I am expecting that space heating would be the default because its primarily a space heating appliance. 1kWh/day is 40W, not exactly a lot, but it is more than mine so if you have any monitoring it might be worth taking a loo.
I think you have the new pro. Is the fan permanently on to clear refrigerant leaks, if so that could well account for the difference.

I have the space saving feature off, as not needed. But i believe that uses another fan anyway and the fan would probably not account for 150wh a day. Not anything to loose sleep over. The appliance interface uses 5w continuously.

@trebor12345 the space saver on the Pro is just a funny way to say that it can be installed closer to opening windows, etc than the Plus. This is because the pumps have propane (heavier than air). So if there is a leak, the concern is it could go into a living area and a spark would create a risk. So the Pro has something that (if I am not mistaken) uses about 2w and disperses the gas in case of a leak. We have that feature off, as the pump is far enough from opening windows, etc.
I had a closer look at the usage a I had a spare CT clamp that I tagged on the electrics for heatpump and related stuff. Pump and controls use about 11w continuously. But if I understand Vaillant's app principles, they would only allocate the 6w or so used by the pump and would explain around 140wh.. (I bet my old boiler would beat that just on electricity) James explanation that these things are allocated to heating (that is what a heatpump is mainly going to be used for..) seems good to me.

Mine is typically using 11w including the interface, so 7.92kw for a month. At my rate, costs about 30p.
