Rule change re ASHP
The article is behind a paywall for me so I cannot read it, others may have more luck. Basically, the rule forcing ASHP to be at least a meter from neighbouring property is to be scrapped to increase the installation rate.

I managed to read it before the paywall went up. As far as I can see it is as it seems.
@kev-m Isn’t this akin to dolling out lighter sentences to offenders because the prisons are overcrowded? Regards, Toodles.

Don't worry, the neighbours will complain about the noise and then the heat pump will have to be moved or removed. But having been installed it will have been added to the 'heat pumps installed' list, and if the heat pump is subsequently removed, it will no doubt not be possible to debit the 'heat pumps installed' list, and I doubt if anyone is compiling a 'heat pumps removed' list.
You must remember it is not about saving the planet, it is more important to compile lists, accurate or otherwise.
Sometimes it is nice being an old cynic. 😜

I was hoping it would be part of a well thought, holistic review of the PD rules to make the planned HP roll out easier and not a knee jerk isolated response dreamed up by some junior adviser who doesn't have a clue. Then I remembered that the government is in charge of this.
@kev-m You are in safe hands with this government; the people behind this project are experienced and well trained, up until very recently they have been working on the HS2 project…😉 Regards, Toodles.

Thanks Toodles, you have put my mind to rest, I will be able to sleep like a baby tonight. 😋

@mikefl It would seem that it will be down to Local Authorities to interpret the rules! Officious Local Government Officers apply here then! Regards, Toodles.
