I did a poll among installers, people that work for heat pump manufacturers & distributors recently asking them if they have a heat pump at home?

55 replied and the numbers were quite interesting.

Hi Mars,

A further question that you could ask is 'how many paid the full price'?

@derek-m, I suspect we all know the answer to that question, but it's a valid question to ask.

Then the next even more interesting question might be: "Would you still have installed a heat pump if you hadn't been bribed sorry 'incentivised'?" That 58% might drop somewhat. I'd say that even at 58% its an eye opener, if it went below 50% it would raise more questions than its answers. The small self-selected sample is a problem (not your fault of course Mars) but my hunch is the self selection process would tend to draw in those those with positive attitudes to heat pumps, and so any bias will act to increase the number who have heat pumps in the sample. In other words, the true rate may be far far lower.
