@andrewj my solar inverter has a monitoring system reporting loads every 5 mins. I can easily tell when the HP is on and how hard its working. Once ive finished all the rebuilding, just fitted 50m2 of new ceiling in the kitchen/lounge, ill look at a better monitoring system

Just updating that ocotpus are still in touch with me, the noise is not fully resolved. Trying to coordinate a fan replacement so we can say for sure it is the fan in my unit.

There was another firmware update 3 days ago which has significantly improved COP again. I saw my first ever instantaneous COP above 6 at 10C outside and the ramp up has changed significantly. It seems to get into, and stay in, steady state far better now.

Looking at the Facebook group this was rolled out to quite a few people 👍.

@swwils how did they do the firmware upgrade, is your HP Cosy or Daikin?

@agentgeorge I am on Firmware Version 5.4.2 and have seen a change in how the heat pump operates below 5 degrees over the last few days. Runs a lot more steady.

@harrisonc If it isn't a stupid question, how do you find the firmware version number?  I have not noticed a difference in performance of late, and a COP of 5 or above is a rarity for me. Bring it on.

@agentgeorge Cosy 9. It's automatic and remote update. Probably only for 9s

@kevh I have to go into the installer mode and check the version number.

The new behavior seems to kick in after 5 degrees. You can see below where the red line is when the outdoor temp is below 5. The peak just after is the hot water. The green circle is a new behavior as well where it seems to boost to get the flow temp up after a restart. The pink is also new, normally it would be fluctuating like crazy here but it is now pretty stable.

I will have to see how it goes when it gets even colder but hopefully this is a more stable control loop.

It ramps differently now and then doesn't ramp as hard afterwards, there is also much deeper modulation of the heat output. So basically it gets into steady state better and stays in steady state.

@swwils Next thing they need to fix is correctly measuring power. What card are you using for Home Assistant for these out of interest?

@harrisonc it measures electric exactly and heat within 8% of my MID meter so that's pretty damn good.

It's not HA

@swwils are you on Cosy 9, as the Cosy 6 definitely doesn't when it modulates down. Does your Cosy heat output under or over-report?

ah should have known it was OEM based on the black line.

Many thanks.  I have yet to enter installer mode, maybe I should take this an ideal opportunity.
