The future of heat pumps isn’t just about technology. It’s about trust, quality, and opportunity. Together, we can ensure that UK homes are warmer, bills are lower, and the green agenda moves forward without compromise.
I’ve met the Flexi-Orb team, and they come across as genuinely professional and focused on doing things properly. Whether they can improve installation standards long-term remains to be seen, but what’s certain is that MCS has failed to deliver meaningful progress.
For years, we’ve seen the same problems repeat themselves: poor design, poor commissioning, poor outcomes, all signed off under an MCS framework that has no teeth. I strongly believe that if nothing changes, the state of heat pump installations in the UK will continue to decline.
IMO, competition is the only thing that will drive improvement. As long as one organisation holds a monopoly on government grants and certification, there’s zero incentive to raise the bar or fix what’s clearly broken.
