That makes sense, if you don't intend to, then don't penalise just because it may be more sunny etc.

However if you intend to then tax it. 

I suppose this part of the tax system encourages electrification of the home (EV, heat pump, batteries), as well as use of off-peak electricity and feed-back at peak times (provided storing energy from the grid counts as domestic need)!
