@transparent think of it as kWh generated (like via PV) as opposed to kWh consumed. 🤣

If you haven't already seen it, we’re running The Big Heat Pump Survey 2025, and we’d love for as many of you as possible to take part. Whether your heat pump journey has been smooth sailing or full of hurdles, your experience matters.
This survey is all about gathering real, homeowner-driven data on heat pump ownership, performance, costs and installer experiences. It’s a chance to highlight what’s working and what needs to change – something the industry needs to hear.
💡 It only takes 5 minutes, and all responses are anonymous.
And please share it with friends, family & colleagues so that we can get as many results as possible and put together a comprehensive report we can share with major industry stakeholders to improve things for everyone.

We’ve introduced a new rule for these forums which has been added on the terms of us: posts that look like they’ve been written by AI and copy-pasted into the forums will now be removed without notice. We want Renewable Heating Hub to remain a space for real, human conversations, especially on technical or homeowner-specific issues where personal experience matters.
If you’re using tools to help draft your response, please make sure the final post is clearly written in your own words.
Thanks for helping us keep the forums thoughtful, useful and human.

@editor Fairy Nuff Mars, I doubt that my ramblings would pass muster with even the least able AI programme anyway. Wot I write is all me own - but is normally heart felt!😉 Regards, the actual Toodles. (N.B. No robots were harmed in the writing of this cheeky comment!)

Really one for @editor : I've had to go through the cookie confirmation steps again. The particular software you use is awful for "legitimate interest" (there are dozens to untick) and hiding the majority of these under a separate, non-obvious link called "Vendor Preferences"; it isn't at all clear, in any case, what happens if you "withdraw consent" by unticking that but leave "Legitimate Interest" ticked? Do you have any further insight to this as the site owner, or can you ask your hosting provider? I can't find any clarifying info on this point in particular (plenty about what Legitimate Interest is) but I could be getting my searches wrong.
@andrewj I’m currently away and only back this weekend. No answer off the top my head. Will look into it and reply.

Something new is stirring in the engine room because we’ve been quietly working on something rather exciting.
It knows kilowatts. It respects good design. It’s got a feel for flow rates and fault codes… And it’s almost ready to meet the world.

@andrewj, in response to your query above, the cookie consent system is part of Google’s compliance with EU privacy regulations, and unfortunately, we have no control over the formatting or how it’s presented (including the “Vendor Preferences” section and how Legitimate Interest is managed). It’s a Google-provided mechanism that’s designed to cover thousands of advertisers, hence the overwhelming and often confusing interface.
I agree it’s far from user-friendly. To answer your specific question: I think that if you untick consent but leave “Legitimate Interest” ticked, it essentially means that certain vendors can still process your data based on what they deem to be a “legitimate business interest”, even if you haven’t explicitly consented. Whether that’s appropriate is debatable, but it is permitted under GDPR in certain contexts.
That said, I think that if you go into “Vendor Preferences” and actively disable both Consent and Legitimate Interest for individual vendors, that should completely stop them from collecting and using your data.
Not sure if that helps you at all.

I mentioned this some time ago, but it is still apparent and indeed seems to be getting worse. Opening and navigating the site is painfully slow. I wasn't alone when I reported this before, and I will be keen to see if this is a problem experienced only by me.
