Hi, I’m Cathy and I’m in Essex. I’ve just had an air source heat pump installed this week and it’s all new to me. Currently my house is cold and my smart meter is rising as I watch! I have a Baxi heat pump and a Honeywell Home thermostat.
@cathyem1 welcome to the forums and sorry to hear that your ASHP is not running as it should. Can you please start a new forum dedicated to your system and tell us more about your system and set up?

Hi looking to get ASHP this year been my goal since getting solar and batteries and just got go ahead from the boss before christmas.
Hello All,
New member here, just begun looking at a ASHP for our house. We’ve already got Solar panels, as of last March and they’ve definitely made a difference to our electricity usage.
I’m a retired BMS (Building Management Systems) engineer, formally employed by Schneider Electric, Satchwell and prior to that served my time as an electrician.
While I was working I never encountered a ASHP or even GSHP, it was always dual fuel boilers and conventional chillers so they are very much a black box as it were.
I’ll do plenty of reading, YT watching and no doubt be back with various questions.
Regardd,
Michael.

Hi @maxthedog
That's a useful skill-set to bring to this forum.
Irrespective of the questions you might have, please feel free to dive straight into existing topics...
... especially where there are issues regarding building fabric and electrics.
We are going to be facing ever more respondents here who really ought to be moving to a 3ph domestic supply,
but haven't appreciated the need to do so.
Have a look at my comments here, for example.
Does your previous work with Schneider mean that you're in the Telford area, with NGED as your DNO?

@maxthedog Welcome to the RHH, your experience and expertise will be very useful hereabouts I’m sure. We are a friendly group and no question is too trivial and rabbit holes are mined by quite a few members! Regards, Toodles.

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome Transparent, Toodles.
Spent my time in controls in their Yorkshire regions with the odd foray over ‘t Pennines, but nothing south of Sheffield.
I’ll get some calculations done and take a look at our Octopus numbers, then see what questions to ask.
Cheers,
M

Adam, based in Boston Lincs. been watching lots of the Heat Geek stuff but still not getting the feeling of confidence even from some HG affiliated companies.
Hi @adamk - We're pleased to have you here.
Are you contemplating a heat-pump installation?
Or do you already have one which isn't performing as you'd hoped?
Many of us gain confidence here by the very act of responding to posts from others.
It's the discussion itself which helps to shape our ideas, and gives insight into the underlying concepts.

Hi all John based in Winchester, Hampshire. I’ve had solar on my roof for about 12 years now, 2 years ago added batteries and just over a year ago a heat pump! Have been struggling a bit with the heat pump journey ( poor installer plus refrigerant leak) but now hopefully in a position to fine tune.
