@Morgan, I've tagged a setting that will hopefully work now Pease let me know if it does. There should be a [new] button at the and of topic links, which jumps to the first unread post.

Well there certainly was the ‘new’ button but pressing it did nothing until I pressed on the bold part of the notification. Doing that took me to the last post again but then there had only been that last post since my previous visit so nothing proven. For now all I can confidently say is that there is a nice orange ‘new’ alongside the bold type identifying a new post to a thread. I will not visit now until tomorrow in order that hopefully more than one post is added and I can test properly.
I hope you have solved it but in fairness it’s a first world problem and a minor irritation rather than the end of the world. Thanks for looking into this.
Retrofitted 11.2kw Mitsubishi Ecodan to new radiators commissioned November 2021.
14 x 500w Monocrystalline solar panels.
2 ESS Smile G3 10.1 batteries.
ESS Smile G3 5kw inverter.
It appears the change only highlights that a new post has been submitted. Still goes to last post as opposed to the first unread post.

We've just implemented a new private messaging system on the forums – if you look at the little icons under your profile (on the right hand side bar) you will see an envelope. This is the area where you can send private messages to other users on the site. If you want to share private information (that you don't want to be public) this is the place to do it. I would also encourage that you use this to communicate so as not to reveal your email address to other users. Enjoy.

In order to keep conversations going when you're not in the mood to discuss heat pumps, PV or depressing electricity tariffs, are there are any off-topic hobbies or subjects you'd like to see on the forums?

@kev-m, not close at all. I’ve been thinking of having a dedicated EV thread because of its V2G capabilities. Will add that today.

Could it be all renewable-powered transport, please? Ebikes and even bikes have more to add than heavy high-embedded-carbon EVs, but of course EVs are needed for heavier haulage.
I know it's starting to encroach back the other way on your "My home farm" blog, but how about discussions of other sustainable living topics? My quest for reducing my impact on the world isn't solely rooted in domestic energy; DIY, home cooking, food cultivation, wildlife conservation and many more topics all have links to the same mindset.

@majordennisbloodnok, I don't mind a cross over with My Home Farm. I find the forums here far easier to navigate than the through blog comments and questions. We have some blog posts that now have hundreds of comments on My Home Farm and they scroll through an infinite amount of pages. So I like that idea. I think the environmental impact across our general lives should be a focus from food and cooking through to travel and gardening. I'll start up a forum on this today.

Great suggestion – I've added a section to renewable-powered transport.
