With the pending rise in energy prices pushing the unit cost of electricity from 0.34p/kWh to anywhere between 0.40p and 0.48p/kWh, what is the limit that would see widespread use or adoption of ASHPs economically unviable?

So what have Clarke, Leadsom. Sharma, Kwarteng, Rees-Mogg and Shapps being doing since 2016 when BEIS was formed, as they have all led that department?

Business, of course! Including entrenching the continuation of polluting burnt fuels under the cloak of "net zero" where it's OK to keep polluting as long as you duty enough poorly-regulated clean-up credits.

Don't fall for it and settle for "net zero"! Demand energy efficiency and consumption reduction!

It is really a clinically rather interesting word salad, on the basis of which I suspect the writer needs to start taking the haloperidol sooner rather than later. Notice the robotic, monotonous and obligatory use of the tricolon, a device that exists endures and excels splendidly in Shakespeare ('We few, we happy few, we band of brothers') and the Bible ('And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three'), but in its official bloated and convoluted form in government Newspeak, it numbs, dumbs and stupefies the reader into a state of eternal fugue. It promotes, supports and delivers world class nonsense. Or to put it more succinctly, it is pure twaddle.

Don't suppose you've read Orwell's essay "Politics and the English Language"? It sounds like you have, but if not you'd probably like it!

I have, and you do well to remind me of it. Another favourite guardian of the English language of mine is Clive James, particularly in his Observer TV criticism in the 1970s. Here is what he had to say about the Mr Fish situation:

"It doesn’t matter when the Beeb’s weatherman, Mr Fish, wears a jacket that strobes like a painting by Bridget Riley. But it does matter when he warns us about something called a ‘freezing fog situation’.

There is no such thing as a freezing fog situation. What Mr Fish means is a freezing fog. In the panic of the moment, when on television, I myself have employed the word ‘situation’ when it was not strictly necessary. Even now I find myself thinking of Mr Fish as Mr Fish situation. But Mr Fish situation has all day to rehearse his little bit of dialogue situation. There is no excuse for his situation getting into a saying ‘situation’ situation."
