New Samsung ASHP
Good evening. Has one seen the new Samsung quiet HT ASHP?
Looks good very similar style / performance to my Daikin Altherma 3H HT machine. A bit larger.
But good to have choice.
Thoughts?

I’m not sure if the Samsung HT unit has been installed in the UK. In January it was still awaiting MCS accreditation and sign off. Not sure if it’s been approved for roll out yet.

Arh ok. Let’s see. Choice is always good. Seemed quite efficient & quiet

@julianc, agreed. Graham Hendra installed one a few months ago, and seems pleased with it so far.

It looks as if Graham has been busy playing around with a few different heat pumps; between his RED and the Samsung LN HT he had a Phnix R290 heat pump running (fancy, expensive, unobtanium, non-MCS certified (yet), perhaps one of the Chinese heat pumps he has mentioned in his blog)! Plus according to linkedin he's installing a Samsung Gen 6 at his son's "impossible house".

From what I can see in the modbus manual, it says that the hydro HT does not support cooling mode. I am not sure if this is referring to the one you mentioned, but if you want cooling and heating, check the specs carefully.
@william1066 hi. Thanks William. I already have a Daikin ASHP (heating only). So this was more an fyi for others to consider when investigating ASHPs.
But your point about cooling is a good one.
I think there was a cooling version too, but didn’t investigate too much.
From an aesthetic & performance perspective it looked quite a good option.
But there are all sorts of other things to consider in the design and support side.
This was not a recommendation, just a “have a look”.
Thanks again
