Hello,

My outdoor unit get the sun beating on it and skew the real outside temp.  When it's like 12c outside, once the sun comes out it raise to 20c quickly and the sun heats the metal unit.  Is there a way to move the sensor inside the unit so it is not too close to the metal case?  Or maybe another solution?

I can't use the weather compensation feature because it drops the water temp in the morning if the sun is out.

Unit is 1 year old 7kw size with software 3.0.6.5

The sensor should really be outside in the shade, not inside the unit or in sun.  Assuming it's separate (some ashps only have sensors in the air intake not separate oat sensors) your installer should have located it properly.  Is it on a long cable?  Maybe they do an extension? I don't have the installation manual to hand but it almost certainly says something about it.

4kW peak of solar PV since 2011; EV and a 1930s house which has been partially renovated to improve its efficiency. 7kW Vaillant heat pump.
