Yes mine is missing, I hope intentionally, the black tube is there but there isn’t a PT100 RTD in it. As far as I understand it, the homely uses weather station data instead to determine outside air temp. More accurate/reliable or not, I have no idea, I guess it depends upon proximity/representative of the chosen weather station is. Thank you.
@papahuhu I find that the ‘Homely’ OAT (obtained, as you say, from the cloud) can be at variance with that reported for my local area by Amazon (notsosmart) speaker. Sometimes they agree but other times, there can be up to 1.5 degrees C. difference. I don’t know where Mr. Amazon sources his/her predictions and results from though. Regards, Toodles.

@toodles Don’t start me on moaning about homely 😀 When I look at my app I see the OAT swing +- 5 or 6 C, my installer tells me the value I’m seeing isn’t the value that feeds the algorithm. Who knows what the truth is, wasn’t it Nietzsche whom claimed there are no facts, only interpretations. He’d have been a perfect heat pump installer if he wasn’t so busy writing exquisite prose or catching syphilis.
@papahuhu the build up of ICE is a widespread problem.
There are consumers complaining from New York to Minnesota and Chicago.
Greenlanders are equally upset.
They are content to have abundant ICE, but are now concerned at threats to take it over.
In both cases, positions are becoming increasingly polarised.
Your plight with fan blades touching ICE can at least be solved with a hair dryer.
I wish an equally straightforward remedy could be deployed in resolving the other scenarios.
Save energy... recycle electrons!
@transparent Perhaps we need some positive actions to trump it?

Yes, it’s all looking a bit 1930s’esque. But this isn’t really that new, there’s a good reason why so many of them fled to South America post WW2, it’s well documented that they were enabled to do so by several states and the Vatican. If you ever want to delve down the ideology rabbit hole, check out what was done in Europe post WW2 in operation Gladio. Or more controversially, the groups that were indeed operating and being funded in Ukraine before the Ruskies went in. All very well documented in UK parliamentary and EP reports if one chooses to look, but never mentioned.
Posted by: @toodles@papahuhu I rather hope any installer I use doesn’t have VD!😳 Toodles.
In fairness, @toodles, I'd be more concerned if it became necessary to find out.
