Apparently I don't have a buffer tank then!
Hi Everyone,
If you wish to fully optimise your heating system, i would suggest that you spend a little time understanding how your system is constructed and how it is designed to operate.
Looking at all the pipework and wiring may be a little daunting, but these system are not really that complex. If you do not have a schematic diagram for your system it may be possible to trace out the pipes and wires and create your own. When it comes to the individual components, as I often say in jest, ' if all else fails, read the instructions'. If you don't have the instructions then carry out a Google search. Understanding your system is important if you wish to fully optimise its operation.
If you need anything explaining then get in touch.
@editor Mars, on the tank there will be a make an model number/name, go on to their website and you will bw able to download the manual, (the installer should have left you with one) that will show you the configgeration of your cylinder.
If you want me to help, I will need full details of your system, including piping, emmitters, a floor plan of your house, insualtion levels and what controllers you have, what and how they control the system as well as the manual of the heat pump.
I can then reverse engineer your design and suggest actual chainges that will need to be made to improve your sysem at minimal cost and disruption. If there are any blatent errors I will highlight them.

@markc, I was told by the installers our buffer tank is in the cylinder - I will give them a call on Monday to clarify.

@heacol, is it possible that our buffer tank is in the cylinder?

@editor Yes, yours is a combined unit, Hot water cylinder at the top and buffer on the bottom.
A good cylinder, I use them sometimes if the system is on radiators, in a highly insulated house and there is not enough system volume, i use them as a storage device to increase the system volume, which I would suggest you do.
