RE: Setback savings - fact or fiction?

By Sheriff Fatman, 6 days ago

I don't intend to hijack the main thread but are you aware of a way to reset the daily totals from doing this? I set up integrations of this kind a few weeks ago when doing the heat pump configuratio...
Majordennisbloodnok RE: Power outages and storms: A surprisingly good DNO experience

By Majordennisbloodnok, 6 days ago

Well done to Scottish Power for doing a good job. Well done, too, to @editor for taking the time to recognise it. Not everyone does well fixing something that’s broken and not everyone acknowledges it...
SUNandAIR RE: Setback savings - fact or fiction?

By SUNandAIR, 6 days ago

That’s an interesting stat. I’m thinking that the 0.1 KWh might be the energy used during the flow reversal process….? I’m also thinking that the real energy which provides the heat for the defrost is...
RE: Power outages and storms: A surprisingly good DNO experience

Great to read a good service story. I know that there are priority lists held for households with vulnerable customers in them. Perhaps your household is on a separate list with Scottish Power headed...
RE: Advice for a novice on Mitsubishi Ecodan 6kW

By Sheriff Fatman, 6 days ago

Fair point. The highest frequency of defrosts I'd seen so far had been 6 within a 24 hour period, but my sample size of relevant data is very small.
Mars Power outages and storms: A surprisingly good DNO experience

By Mars, 6 days ago

We’ve lived rurally for just over seven years now, and in that time power outages have been part of the deal. We’ve had several over the years, two of them directly caused by storms, and up until now ...

Hi @sunandair We also have a Mitsubishi Ecodan but we also have OEM's energy monitoring kit installed, so have access to data with far greater accuracy than MelCloud. Our 8kW Ecodan uses less than 0....
Majordennisbloodnok RE: Advice for a novice on Mitsubishi Ecodan 6kW

By Majordennisbloodnok, 6 days ago

Whilst I agree with @sheriff-fatman’s point, I checked my Ecodan and found on 6th it was indeed defrosting about once an hour from late morning. Although it had been pretty cold the night before, the ...
RE: Advice for a novice on Mitsubishi Ecodan 6kW

I suspect these are electric mats not wet so totally separate from the rest of the system. This should be obvious by the presence eg of a switch. These don't need to be touched when tuning the syste...
RE: RDSAP10 effect on existing heat pump EPC rating?

By Tim441, 6 days ago

@mike-patrick interesting update - thanks. I've been through an extended process on my EPC update. Mine was done in 2020 pre ashp & solar/batteries Updated recently to take into account changes. B...
RE: Advice for a novice on Mitsubishi Ecodan 6kW

By Sheriff Fatman, 6 days ago

In Ecodan world there are two bits of terminology that are easily confused. Anti-freeze protection (which MelCloud shows as a running mode as Freeze Stat operation) is when it runs water at low temper...
