RE: Air source heat pump roll call – what heat pump brand and model do you have?

By JamesPa, 4 weeks ago

@dowallydrifter OK. I would recommend you read this introduction to ASHPs to help you understand a bit more about them and explain the terminology. Weather compensation ('WC') (Samsung call it 'wa...

@m1kegibson did you try calling Mitsubishi as suggested by @ashp-bobba, it may be the easiest fix!
When will heat pumps and install prices come down?

By EGP01, 4 weeks ago

I am currently thinking about having a heat pump installed. Is now a good time? My current gas boiler is actually quite new so could run for at least 6-8 more years, but in that time does anyone see t...
RE: Solar to power Heat Pump for DHW

By Old_Scientist, 4 weeks ago

Wow, how big is your heat pump that it is pulling 6kW during a DHW cycle? I suppose if it's a 16kW model, and it is requiring a LWT of 60C to achieve a tank set temp of 50C, then it may pull that much...
RE: Mitsubishi Ecodan Fails to Heat Water despite temperature drop

Hep. Max drop is 10C. Tried changing and it 5C made no difference. As you say, DHW set to Constant, target is 50C with 10C max drop. I think I will try setting a schedule and switching to timed operat...

@m1kegibson Apologies if I'm teaching grandma to suck eggs but have you confirmed the max temp drop in the controller is set to 10C? To do that you hold down the menu button for a few seconds till th...

I was going to ask what model of Growatt inverter you had, @davidalgarve, but I did a quick scan of one of your previous threads and found out. In doing so, I also found @robs provided this answer to ...
RE: Mitsubishi Ecodan Fails to Heat Water despite temperature drop

By JamesPa, 4 weeks ago

What's the 40C shown on the display? It might be worth changing settings and changing them back, it feels like something might be out of sync between ftc and odu, or as @ashp-bobba suggests, calling m...

What, if anything, are you finding difficult. What are the weather comp settings?
RE: Solar to power Heat Pump for DHW

By JamesPa, 4 weeks ago

This is correct. Inverter limits protect grid and internal wiring. Depends on your tarrif. For me it makes sense to heat dhw at night at 6.7p/kWh and export excess solar during the day at 16.5p/kWh...
