@old_scientist Thank you, yes, yours look how mine used to look. I’ve already tried the obvious, a reset, so I’ll call Samsung support. I bet it happened during the service, which is ironic!

The only thing I can think / have noticed, is that it has a tendancy to lose data if it's switched off at the point it would write the data. For example, my daily usage data will show, but if the unit is powered off at midnight - the point at which today becomes yesterday - the current day's usage data doesn't get written and after midnight when powered back on yesterday's data will now show as zero and that day's data is lost.

So potentially an issue if the unit was powered off (or there was a power cut) at midnight on the last day of the month/year?

Please let me know what Samsung say.

@old_scientist The service engineer powered down the external unit for about 3 hours, he removed and inspected/cleaned and tightened every single electrical connection. There was a lot of water spraying going on too, never good when there’s electronics about! But I’m not sure if the memory chip is inside or outside.
I’ll let you know, I’m not that worried as Ive too many warranties!

@papahuhu I tried Flux for just over a week (yes, I know this is not long!) but soon came to the conclusion it wasn’t the best choice for me.

The various irksome points that have steered me back to Cosy and Outgoing Fixed are:

The Tesla app is ill suited to programming in required times and functions and I am too tight to subscribe to the Netzero app which would provide many of the features required. At a discharge rate of 10kWh, the smallest change Tesla permits would change my discharge figure by 5 kWh; I found myself having to hover over the app to manually change settings at the right time.

Another ‘feature’ of the Tesla app now is they have introduced ‘Optimised Charging’ and on at least two occasions, my battery was not fully charged at 16:00 so export is reduced slightly. This also means that the solar energy that might have gone into the battery has been sent to the grid at sub-optimal rates before 16:00.

Trying to export maximum kWh’s during the most rewarding time leaves quite a few hours before the cheapest import rate comes about; this meant (for me at least) leaving 8-10 kWh’s in reserve for those hours. Often the washing and dishwashing will run after 19:00 and with DHW also running late at night but before the cheapest import time comes round, I find I have itchy fingers trying to stop any export below a reserve of 8 kWh’s.

By 19:00, I have virtually no solar energy being produced so if I haven’t stopped my export in time, my reserve is not enhanced by any solar.

The difference in payment for Flux is no more than £2 per day when everthing is settled and this just isn’t worth the faff - so it is horses for courses. Regards, Toodles.

sorry it’s not worked out for you, not much of summer left anyway. It seems you have all your heavy loads in the evening whereas I schedule mine to occur at peak PV output. As an aside, I remember you mentioning you chew through about 20kWh a day, you do realise that is very high for a 2 person household. We are a 5 person household and summer use is never more than 8kWh including hot water. Has anyone ever checked your smart meter calibration or that you aren’t on a shared supply and there’s someone borrowing it. 

It’s odd your battery didn’t reach full charge by 16.00. Even on a rainy day mine will import if necessary to ensure this, I don’t get why yours doesn’t but I guess it’s irrelevant now anyway.

@toodles I don't bother saving anything for after the peak - e.g, the period from 7pm until 2am.

The logic being, I am paid 29p for exporting it before 7pm and I'm then directly (with no conversion losses) reimporting from the grid at 25p to cover my house load. Therefore it's financially beneficial to export at 29p and reimport at 25p than to try to figure out how many kWh I may need between 7pm and 2am, and to ensure that amount remains in the battery for use, which then only saves 25p. So battery goes to zero by 7pm (I actually set a low reserve just in case solar runs out before 7pm, and then move the reserve down to zero at 6:45pm).

Ideally you'd want to shift those high use activities to the 2-5am period if you can (if they have timers).

Anyway, I get Flux isn't for you. At least you tried so can't say fairer than that. 

@papahuhu Here’s yesterday’s solar production (Not forgetting that small blip after the eclipse of the sun!) and consumption graphs according to Elon. I am not aware of anyone piggy backing on our power - and who wants to tangle with SWMBO when it comes to when washing / drying and washing up are undertaken?! Life is never simple! @toodles Here’s mine from yesterday. We are 5 person household at the moment, the big peak is the DHW cycle. 

@agentgeorgepapahuhu Our Sunamp Thermino DHW system currently consumes ~ 2.5 - 2.9 kWh per day.

@papahuhu I’m ‘special’!😉. This state usually shows up after ~ 70% charge and will exist for perhaps 30 - 60 minutes then have a few more % charge, then rinse and repeat! Toodles.
