@toodles  For both of us it was a genuine +70%

 if I remember accurately, you have 10kW export so that’s 30*35= £10.50 a day, ie about £300 a month, all the time your daily generation is more than about 35kWh.

@papahuhu We are only using ~ 20kWh or less a day so should have 20 or so spare. With 27 kWh capacity I can do fairly well - just need OE to do the switch now. They have all the info, I have smart meter facilities and they have previously had control of my export via IOF so I hope it should not take too long to execute. Rewards, Toodles.

@papahuhu Just checked a few days; washing days can consume up to ~16 kWh including DHW, other days - ~10-14 kWh. No canabis though😉 Here’s the totals for each day of July. Regards, Toodles.

@toodles Blimey, you must wash your clothes at 100C! Ours uses 0.5 KWh a load and it’s a 25 year old machine before eco was a thing.

@papahuhu I blame all the technology; NAS,  7 smart speakers, iPads, cordless phones …. We are however, an all-electric household with induction hob, heat pump tumble dryer, a Sunamp Thermino DHW system, 2 x microwave cookers, air fryer, washing machine and a fridge/freezer plus a freezer. 😆 Toodles.

When I switched to Flux from Cosy/Outgoing back in June, it took Octopus 9 days to swap my Octopus Outgoing over to Flux Outgoing, but once it was swapped over my account showed those nine days of export were all paid at the Flux rate (initially they showed as 12p SEG rate until the system updated). I was a bit nervous but I struggle to see how Octopus can doing anything other than that really, as Flux is a combined import/export tariff (they are inextricably linked) so they can't really charge you Flux for import and pay Outgoing SEG for export in the time it takes for the switch to finalise. Just my experience.

But if you're worried, just continue to run in Self-Powered mode until it shows as Flux outgoing in your account, and maybe partially export anything you don't need during the peak and recharge from solar the following day. (I do wonder how they would handle it is your billing date fell in the period where the system was yet to fully switch over to Flux for outgoing)

@toodles Yes, just don't forget to switch back to Cosy at the point your use exceeds your generation. Once you become a net importer again, Cosy is cheaper/better. Some of the analysis I've run suggests this could even be as late as Dec, as Nov looks like there's not much in it. But I'm a chicken so I'll probably switch back to Cosy in October the moment the heating goes back on.

I forgot to ask you, I’ve got something weird going on with my gen 6 controller. It seemed at the 1 year point, all my generation/consumption data went to cock, to use the engineering term. My consumption and generation become identical, giving me a SCOP of 1.0, whereas it was running at 4.9 last time I checked. It even shows generation data from 6 months before it was installed. Did you get this gremlin please, I haven’t called Samsung yet? I tried a full hard reset, it made no difference.
