@jamespa I suppose the Cosy Cooler is an ‘Add On solution’ for an existing product; perhaps in the future, the product will morph into an integrated ASHP with emitters/extractors. There again, this may not really solve the heating / cooling need as well as an A2A system might anyway. Time will tell. Regards, Toodles.

The cosy cooler is actually a self contained water to air heat pump, using chilled water from the external Cosy on the hot side of the refrigerant loop, with the cold side of the refrigerant loop being fan driven room air.  Standalone portable Aircon units are air to air heat pumps with the hot side of the refrigerant loop fed from air drawn from the house and expelled outside, whilst the cold side is the same as the Cosy cooler.

As you say time will tell which products shake out.  There is probably, I would say almost certainly, room for multiple solutions because 'best' is situation dependent!

4kW peak of solar PV since 2011; EV and a 1930s house which has been partially renovated to improve its efficiency. 7kW Vaillant heat pump.

@jamespa Yes indeed, I meant ‘add-on’ in the sense that the Cosy Cooler requires connection to the ASHP plumbing to function. Octopus are not letting the grass grow under their feet!- Inovation-Inovation-Inovation! Regards, Toodles.
