I touched on this last year and it’s time to push the button.  My growatt hybrid inverter has two connectors for two strings of panels so intend to install another string to max out capacity. Only one connector being used currently.

1. should I add them in the same direction or face them westish  to capture the sun as it passes over my house then sets

2. will these being on a seperate plug on the inverter operate independent of the other string and not be reduced when lack of sun either side, like in shade.

3. I read that the feedback was likely to be removed as the suppliers become more self reliant and that in some countries you have to pay them to unload your solar.  Has anyone heard that as well?

Wholesale prices can go negative in the middle of the day from spring to early summer, lots of sun no huge air conditioning demands yet. But you don’t have to export as a domestic user, (nor do commercial sites) the panels just get warmer by about 10-20%

Commercial sites will export at negative rates to ensure they get constraint payments from government (ultimately us) or other subsidies.

2kW + Growatt & 4kW +Sunnyboy PV on south-facing roof Solar thermal. 9.5kWh Givenergy battery with AC3. MVHR. Vaillant 7kW ASHP (very pleased with SCOP >4) open system operating on WC
