Posted by: @alan22I'm in Scotland, not aware of a similar grant scheme here.

@editor I think that is the same one I looked at, I think I failed the 'much too handsome' to qualify section, to be honest I have applied for grants in the past and found them to be a bit of a gravy train for fitters, I paid £100 I think for a an energy survey..a prerequisite to applying for a grant at the time, they guy that came round looked like he had done a days training somewhere, his level of understanding was pretty shocking, he recommended I switch some of my lightbulbs, the following quote from the recommended insulation company was £5k, I did it myself and sent them the bill, it was £400, took me a day, they reimbursed my £100 for the survey.
There is a big problem growing in the UK, gas and oil is on the way out, renewables is on the way in, millions of people are caught in the middle with homes barely able to retain the heat they get by spending half of their income, and they don't have the understanding to know what to do, so naturally they hope the government will do something, the government won't, it's a ticking time bomb and the sharks are circling.
@iancalderbank, I have learned two things so far, Heat Geeks and Octypus are worth researching 👍
@alan22 so it ought to at least have sound theory and design principles behind it.
