Heat pump monitoring - Open Source.
Not sure if this has been posted before but some might find it interesting. @editor if this post is thought unsuitable for this site I won't be hurt should it be deleted. Posted for info only.
Here you can see a variety of installations monitored with OpenEnergyMonitor, and compare detailed statistics to see how performance can vary.
Retrofitted 11.2kw Mitsubishi Ecodan to new radiators commissioned November 2021.
14 x 500w Monocrystalline solar panels.
2 ESS Smile G3 10.1 batteries.
ESS Smile G3 5kw inverter.
Very interesting. I have been disappointed with my COP. I have an Ecodan but it looks as if I’m getting something similar to other owners.
a few of us here are on that monitoring platform. I'm the "milton keynes samsung 16kw" one. direct link to mine's in my sig.

210m2 house, Samsung 16kw Gen6 ASHP Self installed: Single circulation loop , PWM modulating pump.
My public ASHP stats: https://heatpumpmonitor.org/system/view?id=45
11.9kWp of PV
41kWh of Battery storage (3x Powerwall 2)
2x BEVs
I’m another who has their heat pump on that site. I’m a big fan. It’s the 11kw Farnham Daikin Altherma. I was on the OVO electrification of heat trial. SCOP 2.95
My setup was fully monitored but the trial didn’t share the data, so I had to rely on taking manual readings and struggled to get the best of the system. When the trial ended I managed to move the monitoring over to the OEM site. In just a month I have been able to see what’s going on and move my COP up in the 3.5 range. Still not great but much better, and probably all I’m likely to achieve with the system I’ve got right now.
