@derek-m 😆 😆 the heatmisers controls the UFH. One zone is controlled by the wifi thermostat , which controls the living room and hallway, the other one which is a manual one controls the kitchen.

the other controls (760) does the dhw and ufh and towel rails upstairs.

 

no the installers didn't say how they interacted with each other.

Hi Everyone,

I have noticed today, that although the ambient air temperature is a little warmer, our energy consumption has actually increased slightly. I think that in our case it is because it is quite windy at the moment, and hence cold air is finding its way through any nooks and crannies.

Has anyone noticed a similar effect?

definitely.  Add in a bit of wind-chill too.  Rain doesn't help either.

I have a weather station here too and there is indeed a strong positive correlation between both wind speed and rain fall amounts to increased power usage by the ASHP, we have a 2001 house that I would say is draught free and well insulated too, its simply the cooling effect of wind especially on wet masonry

Hi Kev,

As your system is on weather compensation, did you notice any variation in indoor temperatures due to these affects?

Actually, now you mention it, yes. I didn't change anything from yesterday and the house was 21.5C yesterday evening.  I thoight about moving the curve down but didn't.  Rads were 35 or so as I remember checking them. It's now about 20C now and rads are still 35C.  So my very unscientific conclusion is that I could be losing 1C or so because of the 30mph winds and rain.

I feel a log fire coming on this evening ... 🙂

If there is anyone on the forum that I have upset or annoyed, by my what would seem to be inquisitive questioning, then please accept my unreserved apology. It is not that I am an active busybody, but rather an Engineer, who prefers to deal with hard facts and information, rather than having to make assumptions. It is only by knowing the full details will it be possible for me to offer the most appropriate help and advice.

Forum users should remember that -

a) I was not involved in the design of their system

b) I was not involved in the installation and commissioning of their system.

c) I do not have details of their home and lifestyle.

d) I do not know what equipment has been installed and how it has been configured.

It is only by getting answers to at least some of the above will it be possible to offer the correct help and advice.
