For my Arotherm Plus 12kw which is currently set for Fixed heating mode, I can change the DHW temperature on the Sensocomfort by going to Control -> Domestic Hot Water -> DHW Temperature

I've still to test in other modes but according to the manual you can try here:-

Settings -> Installer Level -> Installation Configuration -> DHW Temperature

Other factors which might help you. 

3 bedroom semi detached 130m2 

recent refurbished house, lots of insulation! 

No Gas

UFH to ground floor, no rads.

Electric rads in bedrooms . Electric UFH in 2 shower rooms.

4.62kw solar panels

Hi Nigel,

I think Colin has kindly provided details of how to adjust the DHW settings in an earlier post.

I was surprised to read that you have electric radiators in the bedrooms and electric UFH in the shower rooms, seems strange if you have an ASHP.

@derek-m hi, we went for Electric rads because we don't like too hotter bedrooms and just turn them on and off was as when needed. What would you have fitted? Curious to know!

What temp would you recommend for the DHW?

Hi Nigel,

From the energy consumption and hence running cost point of view, even in Winter an ASHP would be approximately 3 times more efficient than direct electrical heating. If you are not using the electrical heaters very often then they should not be too expensive to run.

DHW in the 45C to 50C range should be adequate. It very much depends on your personal preference, the size of your tank, and how much hot water you use. About once per week your system should carry out a Legionella Cycle, heating the hot water to 60C -65C for at least 10 minutes.

@derek-m hi, our tank is 300L and there is only 2 of us, only showers and the UFH are the main users of the water. I've just reduced the DHW from 50 to 48! 

Is there something else I should be looking at?

Hi Nigel,

I am trying to get my head around how your system is actually being controlled, since according to your photo's, you appear to have the main Vaillant controller, plus what I think is the Vaillant remote controller, also at least 2 Heatmiser thermostats and a Heatmiser unit that may be for the UFH.

Did the installer give you any instruction as to what all the different controls are doing, and how they may interact with one another?

Would it be possible for you to list where each of the above devices are located, and they appear to be controlling.
