Daikin Altherma 3 H HT - Any experiences out there
Would any of the forum have any experience with the above Daikin HT heat pump range? Going to see a unit 'in the wild' tomorrow, primarily to at least have seen and heard it in action. Looking likely we'll be choosing it if all good. House under renovation, and addressing the most leaky areas, and other leakage as feasible.
My heart is saying 'yes', but my head has some nagging doubts re running costs, and that without Solar PV our electricity costs would go through the roof (attic insulation will be sorted as part of renovation works).
Interested on thoughts and opinions, of which I'm sure there are many.
Thank you
SWS
No experience of that particular unit, but remember that with regard to running costs, all you've got to manage is an SCOP of 3.55 and you're at price parity with natural gas, at current unit prices of 28/7.9
If, come October, we see another 2p on Gas and electricity staying the same, then that's another +ve in the ASHPs favour.
Off grid on the isle of purbeck
2.4kW solar, 15kWh Seplos Mason, Outback power systems 3kW inverter/charger, solid fuel heating with air/air for shoulder months, 10 acres of heathland/woods.
My wife’s house: 1946 3 bed end of terrace in Somerset, ASHP with rads + UFH, triple glazed, retrofit IWI in troublesome rooms, small rear extension.

See Worcestershire ASHP thread in the ASHP folder for details. For specific questions, ping me.
Daikin Altherma 3H HT 12kWh ASHP with Mixergy h/w cylinder; 4kW solar PV with Solic 200 electric diverter; Honda e and Volvo EX30 Ultra Twin Performance electric vehicles with Myenergi Zappi mk1 & Ohme chargers
Thanks @JulianC. Mars pointed me in your direction when I first enquired about the site etc. I don't seem to be able to private message you - does that come from earning more stripes re topics and messaging etc? Ex Worcs resident - Suckley Rd, Leigh Sinton, but now ensconced in North Bristol, South Gloucestershire. Saw a Daikin 3H HT in the wild yesterday. Quite a big unit (perhaps it isn't to those familiar with ASHP's), but not unwieldy. Impressed with how quiet it was. Will check your thread, and thanks for your insights. SWS
@southweststokie, yes we prevent new users from private messaging. As you earn more posts, you’ll be able to PM/DM users. Julian will be able to DM you and start a conversation though.

@southweststokie why not ask the Questions here or ideally in my Worcestershire ASHP thread, so others can benefit from the conversation (unless you want to send me money of course 😂)
